KEY AREAS to consider when exploring the Cross-Media Study:
  • Audiences and how they receive and respond to [and create] texts
  • Institutional contexts and how the level of independence/corporateness and how this institutional context influences the production and content of texts
  • Representations within the texts and how these are constructed and construed
  • How codes and conventions can be applied to the specific texts
  • The significance of technology in the production and reception process
THE CROSS-MEDIA STUDY is the Section B of the exam. Section B requires a 45 minute written response and the key to this component of the exam is INDEPENDENT RESEARCH. Students need to select their own texts for this area of the exam.
