Here you go media freaks. Some images from yesterday's lesson. Thanks to Hannah and Louis for bothering to attend and BIG THANKS to all the 6th Formers from the Common Room that came to help with the session. MUCH APPRECIATED. I want to see some of these images transformed into print media. I expect EVERY STUDENT to attempt the creation of PRINT MEDIA. Being absent is not an excuse. DO IT. YEAR 13 Lesson 56/57 [7th/11th May 15]: Homework

Students need to be constructing their Impact Of Digital Media Case Study essays. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT ESSAY. The key revision resource is the sheet of past questions that I have given each student. Students need to be familiar with the areas of digital media that the Section B questions expect students to explore. WE will discuss this on Thursday.

In Monday's session I advised students to develop an awareness of how social media was used in the General Election. Media experts suggest that mainstream media was incredibly influential and this contradicts accepted media theory. The idea that digital media platforms have diluted the influence of mainstream media appears to be challenged by the mainstream influence that appears to have been a big feature of the election. STUDENTS NEED TO DIGEST THE RESOURCES I HAVE POSTED BELOW:

YEAR 12 MEDIA....

I am still alive and our media exam is on the 22nd May. There is still time for students to send me work. I would urge students to attempt a couple of Cross-Media Study essays and email the work to me. Students are also always welcome to come and grab me in the English Dept. I will be in OUR classroom on Friday and Tuesday if you want to come and discuss any media issues.
Good Luck.
