YEAR 13 LESSON TWENTY-EIGHT [24th April 13]: Homework.
The lesson began with a critical analysis of the following trailers with the focus being placed on the students ability to use media language in an appropriate manner. This then moved into a consideration of a Section A question relating to the construction of enigma codes.
Alien Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ5lPt9edzQ
Eclipse trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1D5goGz0SY
Let The Right One In UK Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqkWmUiTm3U
Evaluate how the two trailers use enigma codes to encourage the target audience to watch the films.
The session then 'moved the conversation forward' [spew] to consider the IMPACT OF DIGITAL MEDIA. Class discussion considered the MEST3 Section B question:
'THE INTERNET IS A DEMOCRATIC SPACE WHERE WE ARE ALL FREE TO PARTICIPATE EQUALLY.'
To what extent do you agree with this statement?
The resources below were used to guide the class towards their own independent research. These resources are perfect for constructing a contemporary critical argument that explores the advantages and disadvantages of social media.
