On Friday I will be moderating Y13 Media Coursework so I will only be in the lesson for 10 minutes. The work that I want you to attempt is a response to the following CROSS-MEDIA STUDY QUESTION:
HOW HAVE DEVELOPMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY HELPED PRODUCERS TO ENGAGE WITH THEIR AUDIENCE?
Possible content:
- Students might want to consider how filmmaking has embraced new technology. How have DSLR cameras influenced documentary filmmaking? Think abvout how the BBC use technology to capture incredible scenes from the natural world or how Channel Four use cameras to capture the incredible scenes in 24 Hours in A+E, One Born Every Minute or Educating Yorkshire. RESEARCH REQUIRED. How do the producers benefit from this technology? How does an audience benefit from this new technology? How is the viewing experience of the audience enhanced by the producers being able to capture such unique and intimate footage?
- How is technology used to promote a film? How significant is the use of e-media? How does producer/audience benefit from this technology? What is unique about your own websites? What does the producer offer the audience? The use of e-media is a key area of our Cross-Media Study.
- How does the audience consume the text? Is it possible to watch the texts on a mobile phone? Laptop? Streaming service? 4OD? Are any apps available that enhance the producers' ability to access an audience? How has new technology enhanced the ability for the audience to consume the media product?
- Our documentary texts are offering a message. How can this be linked to media theory?
SEE YOU ALL ON FRIDAY.
