YEAR 12 LESSON TWO...13th Sept 16















Today's session explored how media forms are used to shape meaning. Students were introduced to media terminology such as diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, disequilibrium, enigma codes, denotation, connotation, frame composition etc....

Class discussion considered how media forms are used to shape meaning and the significance of CONNOTATION.

HOMEWORK:
Students need to offer a written response to the following question when considering how meaning is being shaped in the Barnardos advert:
HOW ARE MEDIA FORMS USED TO SHAPE MEANING?
Students need to use media language when considering how meaning is being shaped. The use of diegetic sound and text are important within this text. Students need to focus upon key moments that shape the most significant connotation.
